AERÉ Fender Pump FAQ

Bravo OV4

The Bravo OV4 is the newest addition to our current line of air pumps and inflators. This electric pump will get power from any 110v outlet. With an output of 950 liters per minute, it can inflate anything you need up to a maximum pressure of 2.2psi. Designed as a perfect mid-range pump, the OV4 will perform any task need. A great solution for anyone with access to an AC outlet. Comes with a universal fill adapter for all you inflation needs.

DIDA-4 Magic Inflator

The return of our most requested air pump. The DIDA-4 has high volume air power for rapid inflation or deflation of large inflatables. Excellent for commercial use --Locates air leaks quickly. 4 Peak Horsepower, 130 CFM, 12 foot grounded cord, 6 foot hose, up to 3.25 PSI. Perfect for those inflatables that require 3 PSI.

What is air volume and pressure?

There are two basic types of pumps. High volume/low pressure and low pressure/high volume. AERÉ Inflatable Fenders require high volume/low pressure pumps; these are available when you purchase your AERÉ fenders or at your local marine store.

Which air pump should I use?

Any of the AERÉ Inflatable Fenders can be inflated up by either a foot or canister pump. Our smallest fenders (12” x 29”) can be inflated to 1 psi of air pressure with our least expensive foot pump in 15 - 30 seconds. We recommend our higher volume foot pumps for our larger fenders up to 18” x 58”. Eighteen-inch fenders take about 2 minutes with the manual pump and less than a minute with a high volume electric pump. For our larger fenders, use electric pumps, particularly the high volume units are desirable, but not required. Our largest fenders can be inflated in about 2 minutes with a high volume electric pump.

What is "psi"?

This stands for "pounds per square inch." It is a unit by which air pressure is measured.

Do I need an air gauge for an AERÉ Inflatable Fender?

AERÉ Inflatable Fenders use only 1 psi of air pressure and can, due to compression, withstand pressures many times that. A gauge is not needed for your AERÉ fenders. As a rule of thumb, 1 psi of pressure in an AERÉ Inflatable Fender feels like a soft grapefruit if you squeeze it with your full hand.

How fast will this inflate?

Pump speeds, rated in flow rate in either LPM (Liters Per Minute) or GPM (Gallons Per Minute) gives you an idea of how fast a particular item will fill up. The higher the volume the faster it will blow up. However, the amount of pressure needed (only 1 pound for the AERÉ Fenders and 3 pounds for most dinghies) will change the amount of time needed. Higher pressure requires more time and more effort on the part of the pump.

Bravo 10 High Pressure Foot Pump

The BRAVO 10 HP double chamber pump easily inflates all fabric or rubberized boats, including high pressure floors. It is also fantastic for inflatable those water toys, air mats, floats, etc. The BRAVO 10 HP foot pump is specifically designed to provide the higher pressures that inflatable floors require. It has 4 anti-slip feet for greater stability and is constructed from heavy duty components.

Bravo OV10

The Bravo OV10 is a new addition to our current line of air pumps and inflators, this electric pump will get power from any 110v outlet. With an output of 1700 liters per minute, it can inflate anything you need in seconds up to a pressure of 3.6psi. It even has a sand filter included to prevent clogs when inflating your products on the beach. A great solution for anyone with access to an AC outlet. Comes with a universal fill adapter for all you inflation needs.

Bravo LPM 500

A.C. inflator/deflator 110/115VAC. High speed inflation or deflation, it pumps 1100 LPM and reaches a pressure up to 2.7 PSI. This is a great high speed pump if you have access to a 110 volt or 220 volt outlet. The revolving "handle" system keeps the air flow constant, thus improving the motor cooling (even when inflating objects equipped with small valves). Due to the popularity of this inflator, we have added a 220 Volt model for those boats that have 220 vac available.
